Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Some are needed to make the site work at all, and some help us understand how the product is used. We keep our use of them minimal and explain each kind below.

We group cookies into three categories. Essential cookies run for everyone because the service cannot function without them. The other two run only if you agree to them in the banner, and never before.

Today the essential group is the only one that puts anything in your browser. We do count visits, but with something we built ourselves that needs no cookie to do it. How we count visits, further down, explains it and lists everything it records. No session replay, no advertising cookie, no cross-site pixel. The two consent-based categories below describe what the banner controls if we ever add something to them, and we will list the specific cookies here before any of them loads.

• Essential (authentication, session, security). These keep you signed in, hold your session together, and protect the integrity of the request you made. No consent is needed for them, because they are strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for. Most last only for your session. A small number of sign-in cookies persist longer so you stay signed in between visits. Typical duration: your session, extending to a few months for staying signed in.
• Analytics and performance (consent-based). This is where analytics that needs a cookie would sit: which features get used, and where the product can be faster or clearer. No cookie is set here today. The visit counting we do run stores nothing on your device, which is why it sits outside this category and outside the banner. Anything we add here loads only after you agree, and you can decline it with no loss of core functionality. Typical duration: up to two years, with most expiring sooner.
• Personalization and behavior (consent-based, Allow all only). This is the category that can follow one person rather than the crowd: session replay, cross-visit profiling, and ad or retargeting pixels. We run none of it today, and nothing in it would load unless you pick Allow all in the banner. Limited keeps analytics aggregate and leaves this category off; Necessary turns both off. Typical duration: up to two years.

We count visits ourselves. There is no analytics company in the middle: the page view goes to our own server and lands in our own database, no script from anyone else runs on this site, and nothing about your visit is sent to a third party. It sets no cookie and writes nothing to your browser's storage, so it has no way to recognize you on a later visit and no way to follow you to another site. Because it stores nothing on your device and holds nothing that identifies you, it is not part of the cookie choice below, and it runs for everyone.

What we keep for each page view: the address of the page, the site or search engine that sent you, the country if our network reports one, and the time. That is the entire list. We do not store your IP address. It is used once, together with your browser's user agent, to work out a single scrambled number that lets us tell one visitor from two on the same day. That number is built with a secret key and starts fresh every midnight UTC, so it cannot be turned back into you and cannot connect today's visit to tomorrow's.

Inside the app we go further: any address that carries an id, such as a project or a shared ad, has that id stripped out before anything is sent. So we can see that someone reached the clips step, and not whose clips they were. Campaign tags on a link (the utm parameters an ad or a newsletter adds) are kept, because they are how we tell which one worked. The rest of a query string is thrown away.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we record nothing at all. Where this data is stored and how long we keep it is covered in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Essential cookies do not require consent because they are strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested. Any personal data they involve is processed to perform our agreement with you and to keep the service secure. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are different. None of them is set until you agree. Our cookie banner asks for that choice, and it offers three levels: Necessary only (essential cookies alone), Limited (adds privacy-safe, aggregate analytics cookies), and Allow all (those plus per-person tracking such as session replay or ad pixels). The cookieless visit counting described above is not part of that choice, because it stores nothing and identifies nobody; the Do Not Track setting in your browser is the way to switch it off. Nothing is pre-ticked, declining takes the same single click as accepting, and your choice is recorded so we honor it and ask again if our cookies change. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use cookies to build profiles for third parties.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. The button below clears your saved choice and brings the cookie banner back, so you can pick a different level. Until you pick again, we fall back to essential cookies only. You can also clear or block cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the service from working.
